22 TikTok Reposts a Minute for 24 Hours = 560k Views
Last year, right before Thanksgiving, I posted a satirical "Santa Dog" video on TikTok. It took off instantly. As you can see in the screen capture, it was pulling in 22 reposts a minute—genuine, high-velocity viral activity driven by real people who actually loved the content.
But then, the TikTok algorithm did what it always does: it choked the life out of it.
The "Pay-to-Play" Trap
TikTok has a serious, borderline-predatory "Pay-to-Play" problem. They want creators to shell out $20 for a measly 4,000 views. The catch? Paid traffic is artificially throttled and completely dead on arrival. It lacks any genuine engagement or repost velocity.
Worse yet, the algorithm actively punishes natural success:
- The Viral Kill-Switch: The moment the system detects your video is organically taking off, it deletes the repost links, suffocates your reach, and drops your daily views to zero.
- The Post-Paid Penalty: If you do buy promotion, the algorithm wipes out your organic momentum. The second your paid campaign ends, your traffic flatlines completely. You are literally paying to have your account ruined.
The Algorithm’s Ultimate Goal: Burnout
For creators who refuse to pay, the platform becomes a war of attrition. They post daily, grinding out content and trying to support each other, only for TikTok to secretly lower their For You Page (FYP) visibility once they reach a certain milestone. It’s designed to make people quit. I used to be in that crowd—just trying to have fun and make people laugh—but my videos were constantly shadowbanned simply because they were too good at pulling organic traffic.
Accountability for Digital Fraud
TikTok’s business model feels fundamentally shady. They sell a product—viral potential—but buying it actually kills your reach. In any other industry, promising one thing and delivering the exact opposite is called fraud. Yet, online businesses operate with zero legal accountability.
This screenshot is proof that my content can command an audience when the playing field is fair. It's time these platforms are held accountable for bait-and-switch algorithms that exploit creators.
They sell, buy traffic to boost your viral ability, but paying does the opposite. It makes your traffic completely dead after your paid traffic is finished.
Plus the people that never pay end up banging out posts daily and slowly build followers. They all act loyal in helping eachother out but that doesn't work because TikTok has it set up to lower your fyp views from your followers after a year of struggling progress. Everyone eventually quits. Some have no money for other entertainment so they ignore the small traffic.
I was in the later group. I simply wanted to have fun, but my videos kept instantly getting shut off, shadowbanned simply because they were gaining traffic so easily.
TikTok set up is beyond shady. At least this image shows the proof that I can control traffic if the platform is legit.
Shady illegal business procedures.
What makes most website illegal is everyone is claiming one thing and you don't get what you paid for. There is absolutely no legal responsibility in online businesses these days.
They all must be held accountable able!
